Youth Engagement- be creative, be successful, make a difference.

This is a medium where we connect youth with learning opportunities and creative ideas to fine inspiration, information and engaging them in the process of change. Also to empower, develop and brand selfminded youth towards lendership development in making a difference.

Aim:

We aim to provide an atmosphere where youth are able to learn in a very conducive environment and also helping them to build on their knowledge and experience which give them greater confidence in enhancing their skills/ability.

Objectives:

  1. To provide learning and information service centre to help enrich their mind and community.
  2. To provide and develop a resource centre
  3. To provide capacity building training
  4. To provide an atmosphere where learning can be more engaging
  5. To promote values, artistic expression, community development, education, economic, social and technological development of all.
  6. To facilitate links and communication between the youth within the community
  7. To create means/ways of networking among the group

Culture Heritage/Art

Our need to express and create is powerful. It provokes experimentation and inspires artistic expresions such as visual art, dance, writing, fashion, theatre and music. These cultural expressions are taking on a new shape.

Culture is “the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group and that it emcompasses in addition to art and literature, lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs.”

Objectives:

  1. To promote values, culture and artistic expression.
  2. To organise cultural activities to promote africa culture to share our cultural experience with the local community.

Health

Aim:

Leading through research, key development and focussing on issues that address global health and development problems of our times.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Eating right, exercising and sleeping well are all very important in the prevention of injections and diseases, but equally important is a good sense of self, knowledge, a living support network and the potential for continual personal growth.

Objective: 

  • Improve maternal health
  • Combat Hiv/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
  • To provide seminars and organise discussions on a variety of health issues
  • o provide recreational facilities and leisure activities to improve the condition of life for all

Play Scheme

A play scheme is a planned programme of recreational activities for children outside of school. They usually run during school holidays and are centred on a designated 'base' which is available for the exclusive use of the group.

Play schemes usually consist of a large group of children of a similar age, disability range or who are under the same circumstances, for example, those whose parents have recently divorced.

It offers a wide range of daily activities for the children, as well as an outside play area and a quiet area if the children just wish to relax. Special events are arranged throughout the scheme and some may organise trips and outings. Many children with disabilities attend play schemes, as inclusion and social interaction with children.

Objective:

  • To help parents give their children a positive start.

  • To step up play and support groups for parents and children networking.
